Villarreal has had a mixed season away from home in La Liga this year. The team has won two games, drawn three and lost two out of the six matches they have played on the road so far.
The first win came against Real Sociedad at Estadio de la Cerámica on October 14th. The match was tight throughout, with both teams creating chances but failing to score. However, Villarreal managed to find the back of the net late on through a header by midfielder Carlos Soler, securing all three points for the team.
Their second victory came against Espanyol at the Camp Nou on December 1st. Despite being behind early on, Villarreal fought back and equalized before scoring a late winner through defender Pablo Hernandez. The result meant that Villarreal moved up to fourth place in the league table.
As for their draws, they faced off against Sevilla twice at the Vicente Calderón Stadium. In the first game, Villarreal were leading 2-0 after the half-time break, but they conceded a goal in the final minute to draw 2-2. The second encounter ended in a 1-1 draw as well, leaving Villarreal without a win in their last two away matches.
Despite these results, Villarreal have still been a solid side away from home this season. They have created numerous chances and displayed good defensive organisation, which has helped them stay in the top half of the league table. With a strong squad and a coach who knows how to get the best out of his players, Villarreal will be looking to continue their good form when they return to their home ground later this month.
