Brentford and Southampton faced off in a thrilling football match on Saturday, with the Bees coming out victorious thanks to goals from Pascal Groß and Nathan Redmond.
The first half was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to find the back of the net. However, it was Brentford who broke the deadlock in the 26th minute when Groß scored his second goal of the season from close range.
Southampton responded immediately though, as they equalised just three minutes later through Ryan Bertrand's header. The game remained level until the 85th minute, when Redmond scored his fourth goal of the season to put Brentford ahead for good.
Despite being behind, Southampton pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Brentford held firm to secure their first win of the season. It was a hard-fought victory for the Bees, but one that will give them plenty of confidence heading into the rest of the Premier League campaign.
